Location Maastricht and Valkenburg (2 hours away from Utrecht by Intersity)

Expense 200 euros: Public transit (50 euro if you do not have weekend free subscription), Hostel (50 euros), Meals (50 euros), Ticket (50 euros).

Maastricht (Day 1)

City walk/ride

We can rent a bike in NS-fiets first.

Book Store Dominicanen —— A holy bookstore transformed from a church, which will give you the desire to buy books.

Sint Jan van Maastricht —— A pink church closed to the most famous Basiliek van Sint Servaas.

Helpoort —— An old city gate.

Nolabel interieur & lifestyle —— Travel souvenirs and creative home accessories…

Bonnefanten museum —— Large museum about modern arts… But the building is designed by Aldo Rossi (A famous postmodern architect who published L’architettura della città).

Hiking

Sint-Pietersberg —— Highly recommend! We can stroll through the rare hilly areas in the Netherlands and enjoy the huge traces left by mining in Toekomstige Oerrr waterspeelplek among them.

Restaurant

Eclair Affair —— Nice quality eclair and ice cream!

Buitengoed Slavante —— A restaurant with a long history that offers Limburg specialty cuisine in the hiking area.

La Barceloneta —— Have nice Padron peppers.

De Gouverneur —— Belgian cuisine (beer?).

Tasty Thai —— If you want to try Tom Yum Goong.

Airbnb/Hostel

For one night: around 50 euros per person.

Valkenburg (Day2)

Kabelbaan Valkenburg It’s a mountain/hill. We can climb up to the mountain, and see the whole Limburg from the Wilhelminatoren at the top of the mountain. We can also take a exciting rodelbaan to slide down the mountain. We may spend 2 hours and 10 euros there.

Grotbiken In Valkenburg We will cycling 8km in the underground cave with special mountain bike and head light! Very safe with a professional tour guide from 3.30 pm to 5 pm, need 32.5 euros.

Kasteelruine & Fluweelengrot The only high castle and the most beautiful cave in the Netherlands. We can experience a lot of medieval atmosphere in the cave and castle. The combined ticket is 16 euros and we need about 2 hours to visit them all.
