This blog mainly shares my experiences about ecology, not only in grasslands, but also about forests and oceans. I will share my notes in my Blog Posts. They are mainly about R programming and ecological modeling. Some of the notes are about Python because I am trying to figure out it. I will also share some things about life there. Talks records the conferences and seminars I have attended, and I plan to share my slides and posters there. The content in Teaching is some protocols and assignments for the BSc Ecology2 course.
The Publications section contains all my published papers, which are available in Chinese or English. These papers demonstrate the changes in my research trajectory. During my BSc project, I was interested in remote sensing, niche modeling, and ecological restoration/landscape planning based on these technologies. At that time, I was addicted to using ArcGIS and ESRI to do some geographic analysis. I started learning R and Python programming during my MSc project. My supervisor wants me to do research related to macroecology and conservation ecology, which means I need to think from a really large-scale perspective. I tried to answer some questions, such as which functional traits may predict species extinction, and whether global fern species conform to the tropical origin hypothesis. But I ultimately turned to small-scale/community ecology during my PhD project because large-scale research is too abstract and obscure. Now I just hope to publish something in some classic ecological journals.
